Some people want to learn to drive much quicker than others, whether it is an immediate need or just to get it done and out of the way as quickly as possible. Manchester Driving Lessons offers a variety of ways in which to achieve this, and there are a few things to consider before booking an intensive course:
The First thing to consider, when thinking of a course like this, is whether an intensive course suits your own wants and needs. Intensive driving courses are not to be taken lightly as they are hard work and (as the name suggests) quite intensive.
Second: the cost. Although booking a block of lessons or indeed an intensive course will always provide better value for money than paying for lessons individually, the cost is still something that can be considerable and must be thought about carefully. For a list of prices please refer to the “Lesson Prices” section. If you decide to go ahead and book an intensive driving course, please make sure that it fits in with your own financial commitments, before booking. Any Intensive driving course will require a non-refundable deposit of £100 at the time of booking. This is to cover the cost to the instructor of any lesson time lost due to cancellation. This deposit is included in the course cost and will therefore not be an addition to the course cost.
Third: Time it will take. In order to get an idea of how long a course you will require, Manchester Driving Lessons will conduct an initial assessment. This will take 1 hour and will cost £15. After the assessment you and your instructor will look at the most suitable time and date to start the course, as well as how quickly you would like to do it. Please note that it is important to factor in booking times for both Theory test, and Practical Driving test. Booking lead times can be several weeks for both, and you cannot book a practical test until you have passed a theory test. With intensive courses it is usual to expect to have to book a month or so in advance.
Intensive driving courses are specifically tailored to the individual and will vary in both style and course length. For those people that have already had a lot of tuition, a 10 hour block, which can be done in 2 days, may be suitable, for those starting from scratch it may be necessary to do a 35-40 hour course (based on the average number of lessons for a 17 year old learner with no previous experience). This type of course will take between 5 and 7 days to complete although if extra tuition is needed then additional time will be added for this.
A typical day on an intensive course will start at about 09:30 and run up until about 12:30 when there will be a chance to break for lunch. After lunch training will resume about 13:30 and run until about 16:30. The day would end here and recommence the following day.
